1947 Chrysler Town and Country

I was at the Granby International (Antique Car Show) back at the end of July (2012), and I certainly saw a lot of really, really nice cars, but in my opinion, none better than this 1947 Chrysler Town and Country sedan. I took some pictures, and then stared at it for a good 10 minutes. The owner was sitting right there, and I couldn’t think of what to say that would express my gratitude for the work he has done on this car. The pictures don’t do it justice; not by a mile. The amount of work that must have gone in this restoration, not to mention the money, has to be huge. The chrome was perfect, the wood was perfect, the interior as well; to be fair, he didn’t pop the hood, and I didn’t ask, but I have no doubts that it was just as nice there as everywhere else.

Most of the Town and Country produced in those years were convertibles, strangely enough, so this a relatively rare car, made even more so by the fact it’s over 60 years removed from production.

I have no doubts that this car looked better now than it did when it left the production line.
